Eagles Fall to Cherokee Trail in the Elite Eight
Broomfield Eagles Varsity Drops Game To Cherokee Trail After Late Score
The Eagles stayed in it until the end, but Cherokee Trail pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Cherokee Trail batting in the top of the ninth when Addi Krei singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Broomfield Eagles Varsity knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning. Chloe Eiguren drove in one when Eiguren doubled.
Kenzi Garner took the loss for Broomfield. Garner lasted four innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out two.
Claire Comstock went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Broomfield Eagles Varsity in hits.
Broomfield Eagles Take Early Lead In Victory Over Fort Collins
Broomfield Eagles Varsity grabbed an early lead on its way to a 9-2 victory over Fort Collins on Thursday. Broomfield Eagles Varsity scored on a single by Hadlee Reichert, a single by Claire Comstock, a single by Kailey Morales, and an error in the first inning.
Broomfield Eagles Varsity secured the victory thanks to five runs in the first inning. Broomfield Eagles Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Reichert, Comstock, Morales, and Claire Scott, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Kenzi Garner took the win for Broomfield Eagles Varsity. Garner went seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits and walking one.
Broomfield Eagles Varsity racked up ten hits. Reichert, Comstock, and Morales each racked up multiple hits for Broomfield Eagles Varsity. Reichert led Broomfield Eagles Varsity with three hits in three at bats.
Eagles Nab Win Over Home Town Rival Legacy 8-3
Legacy scored three runs in the first inning, but Broomfield Eagles Varsity still won 8-3 on Tuesday.
In the bottom of the second inning, Broomfield Eagles Varsity tied things up at three when* Bryna Kapelke* singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The Eagles pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Kapelke singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Kenzi Garner’s sac fly scored one run for Broomfield.
Broomfield Eagles Varsity scored three runs in the second inning.* Shannon Jones* and* Kapelke* each drove in runs during the inning.
Breanna Fiala pitched Broomfield to victory.* Fiala* surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Khloe Kubitschek took the loss for Legacy. Kubitschek went six innings, allowing eight runs on 11 hits.
Garner started the game for the Eagles Garner went one inning, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking zero.
Broomfield Eagles racked up 11 hits in the game. Kapelke, Claire Comstock, and Jones each collected multiple hits for Broomfield. Kapelke led the Eagles Varsity with four hits in four at-bats.
