Two Pitchers Combine In No-Hitter To Defeat Brighton
Broomfield Eagles’ two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as Broomfield defeated Brighton 8-0 on Thursday. Ireland Heer induced a groundout from Jordyn Martinez to get the last out of the game.
The Eagles got things started in the first inning when Heer’s sac fly scored one run. They notched four runs in the third inning. Broomfield Eagles batters contributing to the big inning included Lauren Martinez and Ella Anderson, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Breeana Fiala earned the win for the Eagles. The righty went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out four and walking one. Heer threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Broomfield totaled nine hits in the game. Martinez and Fiala all had multiple hits.
