Late Score Costs Broomfield Against Holy Family

Broomfield Eagles Varsity stayed in it until the end, but Holy Family pulled away late in a 5-4 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Holy Family batting in the top of the sixth when E Contraquez singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Ireland Heer took the loss for Broomfield. The righthander went two innings, allowing one run on four hits and walking one.

Breeana Fiala started the game for the Eagles. Fiala allowed six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one
Broomfield racked up eight hits on the day. Lauren Martinez and Kiley Wheaton each collected multiple hits. Wheaton and Martinez each collected two hits to lead the team. Broomfield was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Caylie Eiguren made the most plays with eight.
